Aqui Thami is an artist and activist, her art is centered around the culture of DIY, grounded in the act of 'doing' and addresses political or social issues. She is one half of Dharavi Art Room, a non profit organization that uses art to empower in neighborhoods facing systemic oppression. She is also a part of the collective; Bombay Underground that experiment with various public art practices, including but not limited to zine making and performance art. She is also pursuing a doctoral degree in Tata Institute of Social Sciences .
