Mallika Prasad

Mallika Prasad is an actor, director and filmmaker. She has worked in film, television and theatre and has been honoured with several national awards for acting and direction. Some of her notable performances include the lead role in the film Devi Ahilya Bai (2003), Kanooru Heggadithi (1999) and Doosra (2006). She essayed the role of Swathi in the popular Zee-Kannada soap Megha-Mayoori (2014) and was a prominent part of E-TV serials such as Guptha Gamini (2008) and Garva (2001). Her work for the stage includes an award winning production of Irish playwright Brian Friel’s modern-classic Translations which she directed in 2006, and a virtuoso solo-performance Hidden in Plain Sight which premiered in London in 2012.
She is co-founder and director of Actors Ensemble India Forum (AEIF), an avant-garde theatre company that has produced experimental mixed-genre performances, plays and documentary films, most notably a trilogy of plays about the urban history of Bangalore. She is an alumnus of the National School of Drama, India and Goldsmiths College, London and currently teaches at the Inter-Cultural Theatre Institute (ITI) in Singapore.
